.

.   ..   APPEARANCE. hair . white
. eyes . emerald
. height . 6'4"
Noticeably tall even by Viera standards. Fit, with long limbs and a statuesque, mature facial structure. Her light dusting of fur and her skin are both fair, with pink-lavender undertones, and are seemingly flawless on the surface as is common of her race. This is in heavy contrast to the damaged, calloused state of her naturally elegant hands from her near-continuous work, and she often wears large gloves for this exact reason. Unlike many other Viera, she tries to keep her claws trimmed quite short, though sometimes to no avail.Seems only tangentially aware of the importance others place on physical appearance..   ..   PSYCHOLOGY. character traits . kind yet brash. can feign class but tends to be impolite, and whether or not it's intentional is unclear. can and will spend hours talking about one subject if not stopped. dislikes heat, but despite this does not mind walking for extended periods of time. dislikes tight/restrictive clothing, but will dress appropriately for any given setting should she be asked to.

. the foundation .Raised in a life of servitude to the Allaire family of merchants in Ishgard, the tall, quiet, clearly foreign youth that often accompanied their only daughter seemed to suddenly vanish one day, with not a word.Ayeka, as the family had offhandedly named the child they obtained to attend to their heir, often would listen in on their eldest daughter-- Anju's-- lessons, and while politics and scripture bored the Viera to tears, their charge instead found a certain fascination in the application of various sciences. Caught quite often sneaking out to overlook the work done within the Skysteel Manufactory, or to listen to tales from sellswords of the eccentric researchers that hired them for expeditions at the Forgotten Knight, it was not uncommon for the Allaire's "poor investment" to go unseen for any amount of time after these incidents. One such researcher, an alchemist who had seemingly made her way to Coerthas from some manner of far-off land, left a particular impression on the family's young attendant with her encouragement of Ayeka's curiosity and perception. Visiting briefly on the behest of the Allaire estate, the Hingan woman held an air of understanding and kind intelligence unfamiliar-- and in some ways, unwelcome-- to many within Ishgard. It was not uncommon during her first visit to find the Allaire's insubordinate servant at the alchemist's side rather than the expected post by Anju's. Meeting the renowned scientist appeared to light a fire in Ayeka, which did not dampen even after Okano's departure, and even seemed to burn brighter a few years later with her return. How Okano came to employ her enthusiastic Viera assistant, neither tended to discuss once the pair were on the road. Rumors flew across the Foundation, as to be expected, with a few even making their way up to the higher classes. Many speculated as to what exactly happened to the Allaire's attendant-- if it had been a kidnapping, an escape, or if the family had accepted some form of payment in lieu of continued service. Such a suggestion was salacious, and those who had truly gotten to know Okano were fully aware that she never would have participated in such an exchange. No matter how it occurred, the Allaire family never mentioned Ayeka again, and Okano found herself with a passionate, brilliant apprentice, now brimming with confidence and emboldened by her newfound ability to express herself, while also forming a substantial bond with Okano's young son Momotaro. Despite their shared oddities, the three quickly grew into something of a family, the likes and affection of which Ayeka would readily admit she had never truly experienced. Though she did not call Okano her mother, as she held a negative association with parental terms, deep down truly viewed the woman as such in all but name.

. the calamity .Much was stolen from the people of Eorzea with the fall of Dalamud. Losing track of her teacher and the woman's son in the chaos, it would be far too late once Ayeka was finally able to track them down.Okano, her mentor, her savior, had given her life to save Momotaro from the rampaging monsters and beasts harassing settlements about the nation's city-states. While the boy was bereft with grief, of course, a kind of shock overtook his mother's apprentice that would prove near impossible to shake, stunned into silence for a time. As the suns dragged on she did not fully register the shift in her brother's mental state after his mother's death. Ever the loyal assistant, she simply went through the motions attending to the tasks left in Okano's absence. When she did manage to pull herself from the fog and finally regained her senses, Momotaro's attitude seemed to have shifted to that of a rather haughty brat, fierce and independent. For a brief while Ayeka wondered if the boy would no longer need her, before it became clear that this change was built up as a coping mechanism. He was thrilled to have his sister back, and now does his best to annoy a response out of her whenever given the opportunity.

..   THE RESEARCHER'S APPRENTICE
.
While her expertise is not immediately apparent upon first impressions, Ayeka takes her research and study quite seriously. Be it a need for information on her or her teacher's findings, or a request for maintenance on anything mammet or magitek, she is eager to jump into action. Be warned that she will talk your ear off about whatever you have presented her with, however, and will hold no regard on if you're paying full attention.

..   THE EXPLORER
.
Comfortable with long travel and eager for new experiences to supplement her work, Ayeka will usually be up for the task of setting out into unfamiliar locations with the guidance of other adventurers. Her sense of direction is a boon in most cases, so long as she does not become distracted or accosted by local fauna or, on occasion, aggressive flora.
..   THE SERVANT
.
If raised in Ishgard, some may be familiar with the tall, rather quiet retainer who was often at the side of the merchant Ser Allaire and his family. No one quite knows what exactly happened to them, as Allaire does not discuss it, besides that one day they were no longer tending to the family. If, upon meeting a bispeced Viera with those same striking green eyes, she is pressed on the subject, she will generally cop to it with a rather uncharacteristic air of aloofness. Seems to be some bad blood there.
